Disgaea 3: Almaz Ending PART 2 Ending Theme: Unlucky Hero by Tenpei Sato SPOILERS Unlucky hero, indeed... Anyway, Almaz successfully beats Mao, who can't believe he actually lost and to Almaz of all people. Suddenly, the spirit of Mao's father begins to talk to Almaz. Almaz, realizing that he kicked his son's ass, starts apologizing for what he has done, but Mao's father is not mad at Almaz for doing so. In fact, he's rather impressed that Almaz was able to beat both Aurum and Mao and is ready to reward him. What is that reward? Mao's father makes Almaz the next Overlord... Almaz: You're kidding, right? Mao's Father: No...I am not... After finally letting the whole thing sink in, Almaz just completely flips out. Almaz was a hero, then considered a fake hero, then was doomed to become a demon, then dead, then became a hero again, and now he's an Overlord, the exact opposite of what he wanted to become? Obviously, he doesn't take this news very well and neither does Mao, especially since he is the heir to the throne. Still, Mao was defeated, thus, to Mao's father at least, Almaz is the better candidate for Overlord. Now it already sucks for Almaz that he's the Overlord. It doesn't exactly help that no one else is willing to listen to him. One by one, all of Almaz's friends start leaving him. Champloo-sensei is ecstatic over Almaz becoming the Overlord. Mao decides to leave Almaz and go into solitude and hopes to one day overthrow him. Raspberyl, Asuka, and Kyoko I think are also willing to face Overlord Almaz one day. Finally, Almaz turns to Sapphire and hopes that his princess would understand. Nope. A Princess can't go out with an Overlord and Sapphire decides that she will defeat Almaz one day. With everyone gone, the entire scene ends with Almaz crying as he says: Almaz: W-wait! Everyone, don't leave me alone! Coooooooooome baaaaaaaaaaaaack! That's it for now with the endings. The only other ending I have right now is the Disgaea Trio Ending, which pKjd posted awhile back (The one I like to call the "Mao, I am Your Father" Ending). Disgaea 3: Almaz Ending PART 1 Requirement: Play all the way up to the final boss. To get the ending, you must land the final blow with Almaz alone with all other characters back in the base panel. After defeating the final boss, you fight one more extra battle, but you have to solo it with Almaz. SPOILERS Ah, another epic Disgaea 3 ending. We saw Mao lock up a final boss for experimentation. We saw him succumb to his darkness and destroy an entire world. We even saw Laharl show up and claim that he's Mao's dad, but now it's time for Almaz to get his own ending. Anyway, this first part doesn't show much. Basically what happens is that Aurum has already been defeated, but unlike in the normal ending, Mao doesn't even give Aurum the chance to explain himself and is ready to kill him once and for all. However, Almaz steps in and tells him that he can't kill Aurum. Sapphire and Raspberyl agree, but Mao is unwilling to listen. Mao and Almaz argue until they decide that the only way to settle this is through battle. As you can see in the battle, you gain control over Almaz instead of Mao and he will be the only character you can use during this battle. Your opponent is obviously Mao. So what happens next? Disgaea 3: Bad Ending PART 2 SPOILERS As mentioned in the last video, that blast did nothing to Mao. Mao then prepares himself to fight against Raspberyl, Sapphire, Kyoko, and Asuka solo. After defeating them, he assumes that everyone ran away. Suddenly, the Great Hero Aurum appears and tells him all about his plot to create the strongest Overlord by having Mao succumb to the darkness in his heart. Mao ends up doing so, but Raspberyl shows up to stop him from doing it by hugging him (She does this in the normal path too and succeeds). However, unlike the normal path, Aurum is right there and not too happy to see that Raspberyl might ruin his plans, so he has her killed right before Mao's eyes. Before she dies, she tells him that she's sorry for being unable to reach Mao at the end. When she dies, Aurum basically says something along the lines of "It was foolish of her to interfere." Still, with nothing to interfere with his plan, Mao, who has pretty much lost himself after everything that has happened, finally succumbs to the darkness in his heart and becomes a truly powerful Overlord. Now that the "strongest Overlord" has been created, Aurum decides that now is a very good time to be a hero and pulls out his true form to finish off Mao. Too bad for Aurum though, since he apparently didn't take into account just how powerful Mao had become and was easily disposed of. Mao, with no one to stop him, reaches his limit and completely loses control of his power, letting out a scream as the Human World goes up in flames. Before the screen fades to black, Champloo-sensei takes a moment to reflect just how hell everything ended this way. As expected, the bad ending features one hell of a death toll. Not as big as Soul Cradle's Demon Path victory ending, but an entire world is destroyed and Mao loses the two people who truly cared about him all to a guy who completely miscalculated the power of a Mao consumed by darkness. Probably not as disturbing as Disgaea 2's bad ending, but it's still pretty saddening how Almaz and Raspberyl lost their lives and Mao lost himself in all this. Disgaea 3: Bad Ending PART 1 I would've posted this earlier, but I was pretty busy for awhile. Now that I'm on vacation, I have quite a lot of free time to finally post this. Requirement: Basically what you'd expect for any bad ending: A high ally kill count. For Disgaea 3, it's 99 ally kills before the final stage of episode 7. When you succeed in amassing those ally kills, you then have to complete two more battles. Both of the battles are fought solo with Mao as your only character. SPOILERS If you watched coronette's Almaz's speech video, this scene might seem a little familiar. The Almaz speech video, however, cut out the beginning which revealed Mao's purpose: Going down to Almaz and Sapphire's world and essentially destroy it. In the normal path, Mao is stopped by Raspberyl and Almaz and he has to fight the darkness in his heart. However, here in the path to the bad ending, he faces his true feelings (The Mao with the green replacing his normal red colors) and he has to do it alone. When his true feelings are defeated, he disappears and Almaz is killed off by the poison in him, but he tries his best to at least convince Mao to stop before he dies. Mao, of course, not only refuses to listen but scoffs at Almaz's death. Sapphire is not too happy about this. Moments later, Axel is on the scene with a report on the condition of the Human World, which isn't exactly good considering that Mao is going around destroying everything. As Mao continues his rampage, Raspberyl appears alone to stop him. When this doesn't work, Sapphire suddenly comes out and blasts him away. Disgaea 3: Normal Ending PART 2 Ending Theme: "A Song For You" by Miki Haru and Tenpei Sato I'm surprised at how upbeat and catchy Disgaea 3's ending theme is, especially when you compare it to all the other Nippon Ichi games. Heck, this is the kind of song I'd expect to be in a broadway production, not in a video game, much less Disgaea, but you gotta love it (If Disgaea 2's Sparkle ☆ To Become a Star wasn't so beautiful, this would've easily been my favorite NI vocal theme. Still a close second). And yes, if you saw PART 1, that's Aurum strapped down to a stretcher with Mao ready to dissect him. As the game ends, Almaz talks about everything after Mao became the Overlord, including about how he doesn't want to know what he's doing to Aurum. As for him and Sapphire...well you'll see what happens in the video. However, the game isn't over yet. Disgaea 3: Normal Ending PART 1 SPOILERS BELOW So you're all probably wondering who this weird looking final boss is. Well, this is the Legendary Hero Aurum, who explains that he spent a long time trying to fight an Overlord powerful enough so that he can live up to his name by defeating him. Unfortunately, he couldn't find that powerful Overlord and decided that best way to do it was to make one out of Mao, and he tried to do it by disguising as an old butler (Yes, HE is Jiiya). However, Almaz believed he was wrong to do such a thing and he and Mao finally defeated Aurum. Aurum then apologizes for everything he has done and asks Mao to finish him for good. Now this is the best part of the entire ending: Initially, Mao agrees and pulls out his sword to deal the final blow. However, he suddenly puts it away and decides to not give Aurum his hero's death. In fact, Mao decides that Aurum would make a great guinea pig for his experiments (which apparently include being drilled in the head and pelted with laser beams among other things). Aurum backs away a bit and asks what happened to his happy ending, but Mao reminds him that he's talking to a demon, and with one final "NOOOOOOOO!" from Aurum, he is sealed away for Mao to experiment on. This is honestly the best Normal Ending ever! But as the laughs fade, Mao gets to be with his father one last time. Almaz, Raspberyl, and the rest leave Mao by himself with his father so that they can finally have this tender moment. I think it was fairly clear in the previous episode, but even after everything Mao said about him wanting to kill his father (especially after he destroyed his Death MegaStation Portable) you can see that he really did love him. Finally, his father essentially dubs Mao the Overlord and asks him to take care of the Maritsu Evil Academy. Overlord Mao agrees to and the main game ends... Disgaea 3: Laharl, Flonne, Etna (Normal Cameo) http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2368355 The one posted by pKjd earlier was an alternate ending which I myself confused with the actual cameo battle. This is the battle where you obtain the Disgaea Trio. Here, they're not out to claim they're your parents. It's more like they think you're the legendary Overlord you just so happen to be looking for and are about ready to kick your ass. Ironically, Mao thinks that Laharl is the legendary Overlord and so the two Overlords clash...with no one but Almaz knowing that neither of them is the legendary Overlord. Oh and starting now, if I hear a single comment about Disgaea 3's graphics, it's place on the PS3, why it isn't on the 360, Wii, or PS1 or ANYTHING like that, your comment WILL be deleted. Flonne's Song (Phantom Brave Drama CD) All I'm going to do is warn you right now to be prepared. Don't be surprised if the windows shatter, your ears bleed, or the dog outside explodes. As much as I love Flonne and think her singing in Etna Mode and the first Drama CD was cute, you'll be scared the next time Flonne grabs a mic. As for what's going on here, Cauldron's Marona-chan/Maronakins Fan Club wants Marona to appear for this big concert, and Etna, Flonne, and Myao pretty much get her to go. Flonne obviously wants to sing in front of everyone and she does so but... I decided to add the little scene at the end with Laharl and Ash jumping onto the stage with their guitars.
