StepMania - We Want the Funk - Single Edit 5x Player AT Gerardo's "We Want the Funk" as a custom Edit-difficulty level in Stepmania v3.9; this is the finished pre-release beta version for the dancepad. I really enjoyed creating steps for this song, as it's very trippy and offbeat. The assist tick is enabled in this version so you can understand the overall rhythm better. I am playing using a keyboard (SDL; spread) under Buzzert's ITG 500Zb4 skin, achieving a 79.80% overall for a grade of "A-," NOT a star due to a ranking system bug. The judgment settings are all defaults (MAX2 scoring, 4 on Judge and Life Bar, etc.). A rather poor score, but this was for example's sake instead of my usual Autoplay-type recordings. Abuse - DOS Shooter - Intro, Level 0 and 1 - Normal "Abuse" is a sidescroller shooter-action game produced by Crack dot Com in 1996 and published by Electronic Arts/Red Hat/Origin Systems for DOS/PC as well as ported by Bungie (now Bungie Studios) for the Mac. Called "the Doom of platform games," it featured point-source lighting, 7 powerful weapons to choose from, a _very_ fast-paced gameplay, a unique mouse/keyboard targeting system, full level editing, intelligent enemies and trigger systems, and many other innovations that set a new standard for sidescroller shooters. Download the freeware version of Abuse, called "Free Abuse"/"fRaBs," here: http://abuse.plasmafire.org/ -------------------------------------- "Abuse" has and likely always will be one of my favorite games, no matter how old it becomes. -------------------------------------- This video shows the initial startup with the Crack dot Com logo, storyline marquee (with the armored Nick Vrenna in the background), and the main menu; the first two levels, 0 and 1, are then played through. I am going through the game on Normal difficulty. Level 0 is a training level to get the player acquainted with controls, weapons, and various game objects/goals. A few hidden areas are also revealed. Level 1 is the first actual game level, which pits the player against the main enemies of "Abuse": the humans-turned-mutants Ants. Other obstacles, like gun turrets and large, spiky "boulders," are introduced as well. -------------------------------------- Other bits of info: - This copy of "Abuse" is running on the DOSBox DOS emulator with the DBGL frontend, all under Windows XP. - Sound card is an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum, running the onboard MIDI synthesizer for in-game music. All sound effects in the game are .wav files. - Game resolution of "Abuse" is a whopping 320x240! The level editor is a different matter, though... "f(x)=2" - A Third Halo PC Montage This is the real sequel to "f(x)" (my first Halo PC montage). Has some Blood Gulch action as usual, but I tried to diversify a little more; unfortunately, the whole video was cut short simply due to lack of additional motivation to finish the montage. Meh. - Completed on June 10, 2006. - Captured with Game Cam, edited with Windows Movie Maker. - Music: "Jump Around" by House of Pain - Hopefully, one day, the frame rate will improve. :p Featured...nowhere special. "f(x)=BG^(frag)" - Another Halo PC Montage The pseudo-sequel to "f(x)" (my first HPC montage), this video is more of a humorous attempt to make everything as simple as possible: just Blood Gulch and frag grenades. This was actually more fun to make than "f(x)", or its true sequel, "f(x)=2". - Completed on February 11, 2005. - Captured with Game Cam, edited with Windows Movie Maker. - Better music than "f(x)", perhaps? "Cha Cha Cha" from the Go soundtrack. - Still the same terrible frame rate due to the same PC it was captured/edited on. Featured in HaloBabies.net's "Short and Sweet" update, here: http://www.halobabies.net/archive/05/04/11/short_and_sweet/ Tags: Halo PC HPC Montage Cha Go Soundtrack f(x) f(x)=BG^(frag) f(x)=2 PlasmaFire Blood Gulch Windows Movie Maker |

"f(x)" - A Halo PC Montage The very first Halo PC montage I ever made, back when I first began learning how to play the game. Couldn't even lead most of my shots! "Warthog Dodging" at the end was kinda fun, though. - Completed on December 31, 2004. - Captured with Game Cam, edited with MovieXone. - Seriously needed a better choice of music than the "House Connection 2". - Poor frame rate is due to a slow PC back then. I've (sort of) moved on to other games now, but HPC is still a part of my regime, and this montage serves to remind me of how bad I was--and probably still am, given how little I play these days!
