Scary Shorts: Shed A short film (about 1:40) that stirs the viewer's thoughts of how a quiet wooded area can be beautiful, yet a bit scary when sound-effects are added, (intentional low, fuzzy sound with an inconsistent metallic tapping/rolling in the background) where desolation and a point-of-view approach can make it a bit eerie. Then, a brief perspective from the ground to focus on the surprise ending. The quiet of the trees and a nearby shed are interrupted by an unusual visitor, one that's unexpected, but cast off as if unimportant. Scary Shorts Entry: Dreamquest for the Maw This is a clip from my short film "Dream Quest for the Maw" (based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft). The story, in short, is that the aptly named hapless protagonist Randy Carter (a nod to Lovecraft's Randolph Carter), a video game addict, falls into the Dreamlands. His dream quickly becomes a nightmare when he meets Nyarlathotep, who forces him to run an errand. He must retrieve an artifact known as the Maw. However, he soon finds himself relentlessly pursued by The Chopper, a heartless masked creature (who resembles a monster from Randy's video games) The clip I have submitted is the climax of the film, as well as a portion of the ending. Randy wakes up in the end, but was it a dream at all? This clip was originally very high quality, but has been compressed down to meet the contest's standards.
