Night video 3751 Through San Clemente Beach. 9/21/08 Here is a video of the almost 2 hours late northbound AAPRCO (American Association Of Private Railroad Car Owners) special lead by A.T.S.F. 3751 chuging through the San Clemente Beach pedestrian crossing, from what I could see, this was 1 of 3. The video speak for itself on how awsome it was. Glad I waited around to see it, may people had gone home because of how late it was, and never got to see it on its northbound run. Metrolink MSTS Cab Ride Palmdale - Lancasterw/ Metrolink loco 886 using K5LA & P2! Here is a somewhat new Metrolink cabride video going from the Pearblossom Hwy. overpass all the way to Ave. M on the Metrolink Valley Sub on my edited version of 3dTrainstuff's Cajon Pass route. This video shows the train gring West (North) this time versus East (South) on the other 3 videos. This video was to mainly show off a new horn that I created using Youtube user Ggspin12's "Arrival and Departure Metrolink 119 in Chatsworth with K5LA!" video. This horn will eventually be available on Train-sim.com if you want it, and it sounds better than it does in this video, I had the wave volume turned up a bit high for Fraps. Keep in mind that I'm using 2 different horn clips here. The video begins where the Pearblossom Hwy overpass is located in Palmdale. You will notice that I get a 79 MPH speed limit from my previous speed limit of 49, this is where I go full throtle. I then proceede to pass the CA Aquaduct Crossing (Not constructed yet), then the Sierra #1 Crossing, and then the Barrel Springs Crossing. Right after passing Barrel Springs, and receiving a clear signal at signal 651, I get a speed reduction to 55 MPH which takes effect at the first curve after that speed board. As I approach the curv, you can hear the 65.9 detector. I dyanmic brake past Ave. S and on into Palmdale. Right before the clear signal at Harold, I get a new speed limit of 79 MPH, where I throttle up full throttle all the way past Ave. R and Palmdale Blvd. Right after passing Palmdale Blvd, I bring the train to a brief stop at Palmdlae Station (Yes I know the station says "Lancaster" on the front. I then Depart and pass Sierra Hwy #2, Ave.P and finally end the video after passing the uncompleted Ave. M crossing. The first and last crossings in the video are the only uncomplete ones. Hope you enjoy. Tags: Metrolink MSTS Microsoft Train Simulator Cab Ride Sierra Hwy (#1) Barrel Springs Rd. Ave. Palmdale Blvd. (#2) Crossings |

My Crossing Signal System as of 08/11/08 (3) This video shows in detail how the gate controls the color of the searchlight. Again, I have just set this up for fun and is not prototypical in any way. Also, When I manualy drop the gate, the searchlight will stay red. It needs the system to be activated to change color. My Crossing Signal System as of 08/11/08 (1) Finally, here is an new current video of my crossing signal system. As you can see, a few things have changed. For starts, the gate has moved to the 12" signal. The reason for that is that on xmas 2007, high winds took it out due to it having a cheap mast. After that, I moved the gate to the gateless 12" signal. Afetr I acquired a foundation off of eBay, I completely broke down my old 12" signal and built the one you see here. This one is completely prototypical as far as physical signal setup is concerned. In this video, it currently has a Safetran type 1 Electronic bell, Dialight 12" L.E.D.s on front, Standard Safetran 12" incandescents on the rear, and 3 RECO L.E.D. gate lights on a 30' Aluminum/Fiberglass gate. The gate is technically 30' 6.75" from center of mast to tip. The foundation goes about 3' 9" into the ground. The base holding the signal to the foundation is a US&S base with no cover. The Gate powers down from 0 degrees to 45 degrees. From 45 to 85 degrees, the gate falls by gravity, then goes into full snubb the rest of the 5 degrees. I have also interconnected my searchlight signal to change color accordign to the gate's position and weather the system is activated or not. That is obviously just for novelty. The accessory bell you hear is a WCH Type 1 Electronic Bell. Videos of inside the mech and of the system will come soon. Enjoy. UP 1996 South w/ZBRLC Over Aliso Cyn Rd. Acton, Ca. 5/22/08! I mannaged to catch her with only a few minutes to spare. I was at home and happened to be outside, heard the horn blowing in the distance. I waited a few minutes for it to pass under Pearblossom Hwy, and saw that it was 1996! I rushed right out to get it. I got it hauling the ZBRLC south through Acton @ the Aliso Cyn. Rd. Grade crossing. It looks like some cars were added to the manifest since it went through Stockton, Ca. UP 5214 w/ ZLCBR North Through Ave. R. Palmdale, Ca. Here is the ZLCBR heading north through Palmdale, Ca @ Ave. R, lead by UP 5214. This is the first crossing that UP trains hit coming off The Metrolink AV line going through Soledad Pass. He has a 60 MPH speed limit but he still has to keep his train at 50 untill his entire train is on the UP line, that is why he is using dynamic brakes through the crossing. I am lighting up the crossing with my new spot lights that I got on line. Engoy. Tags: UP ZLCBR Metrolink Ave. Palmdale Ca |

Metrolink MSTS Cab Ride Pt 3 Palmdale-Acton 04-04-08 This is another one Ride Vincent Gr of my works in progress. This is slowly becoming the Metrolink AV line piece by piece, It is being added on to 3DTrainstuff's Cajon Pass Route. There is much noticeable work in progress in this video, especially once you get past Aliso Cyn Rd, and 100% uncompleted terrain work past Crown Valley Rd. This tour is seperated into 3 parts. This Third part crosses Aliso Canyon Rd. and Crown Valley Road. All the grade crossing signals are as exact as I can get them for now. All The Wayside signals for the most part are completely exact to the real thing except for the number boards which are the wrong style. Because of my innability to edit Dynamic tracks, the track between CP Quartz and signal 591/592 may be a little off and does not have as steep of a grade as it should. I put this track over an old attempt at this part of the line which ended just past the 591/592 signal. Again, Terrain work and Road work are what I'm working on right now. Sceenerey comes later. The video ends about 200 feet north of where signal 551/552 would be. Enjoy Part 3. Updated videos will probably come next month. There is some noticeable work in progress in this video, mainly past the UP Colton Cuttoff at Palmdale Jct. This tour is seperated into 3 parts. This second part crosses Palmdale Blvd, Ave. R, Ave. S, Barrel Springs Rd. and Sierra Hwy (#1). All the grade crossing signals are as exact as I can get them for now. All The Wayside signals for the most part are completely exact to the real thing, UP's and Metrolink's, except for the number boards which are the wrong style.. Enjoy Part 2. My Crossing Signal System as of 12/14/07 Here is the setup that I thought I would never get to see in my collection. This video is featuring 1 of the 2 US&S Teardrop bells that I got from a seller on eBay. That bell was installed in 5 seperate pieces because of the weight, which is 72 lbs., Vs. a normal M bell weighing in at around 30 lbs. The bell on the mast signal is my WRRS #4 M bell with its new gong, also, incandescent lighting is back for the front lights. Both bells ring constantly throughout the video and turn off when the gate rises as per many requests. Also, You'll notice a WRRS swinging lantern light as the tip gate light, that too was bought on eBay. As you can also see, I was sort of in the Christmas spirit and decided to decorate both signals with lights, its not too often that you see Railroads do that. TrainSim Metrolink 862 with freight @ Sierra #2 Palmdale, Ca For Starts, this is completely fictional, I was just playing around a little with my Metrolink locos. I guess you could say though that UP has leased some Metrolink locos for whatever reason to run freights from LATC to Mojave and back. I have no idea what I would think of this in real life, but in my opinion, it doesn't look too bad. Notice that the K5LA is activated on the lead lead loco #862. That was another nice little bonus. This will be my last train sim video from this location with this exact signal setup. I will be upgrading the UP lights to the new setup that is the actual location. UP 4977 With Autoracks Through Sierra #1 Palmdale, CA? Here is something you don't see every day, its definately a first for me. UP 4977 is leading an autorack train north, destin for Nevada. The part that is wierd is that it is using the Metrolink AV line through soledad Canyon. I caught it here at the Sierra Hwy #1 Grade Crossing. Normally only Z trains, and rock trains are the only freight traffic on this line. Any info and insight into this would be appreciated. Never the less, It was a really good catch and a good video. Enjoy. Tags: UP Autorack Train Sierra Hwy #1 railroad grade crossing signals Metrolink Antelope Valley Line Palmdale Ca. |

Coaster Set on Metrolink 268 (Round 2) @ Drayton St. Newhall Here is the 5th and last video for round 2 of my chasing the Coaster set. This time, I catch it at Drayton St. in North Newhall/ Santa Clarita. This crossing has A Safetran Hybrid bell and a Modern Industries Mechanical bell, Very cool, and the MI bell is rare for Metrolink. After the train passes, I continue recording to get the train blowing its horn for Oak Ridge Dr., about 3/4 of a mile south of this crossing. Coaster Set on Metrolink 268 (Round 2) @ Lang Sta. Rd. Here is video 4 of 5 of my round 2 chase. This time I get the set at Lang Station Rd. in East Santa Clarita, More commonly known as Sand Canyon. The video starting late was sort of the train's fault, I could not hear it coming at all untill the signals started. Note that this is 1 of only 2 crossings on the entire Metrolink Antelope Valley Line that has WCH E bells actually belonging to Metrolink. These are WCH Type 3 E bells. Note the Tumble weed still dragging. Tags: METROLINK COASTER K5LA Lang Station. Rd. Railroad Grade Crossing Signals Santa Clarita Ca. Antelope Valley Line |

Coaster set on Metrolink 268 (Round 2) @ Robbins Nest Xing. After I catch the Coaster set at the private crossing, I meet up with the set again at the Robbins Nest Private Crossing just to the west for my 3rd of 5 Coaster set videos. I was sort of late on starting this video. At the end, I was waiting for the detector to sound, but it seemed like it was malfunctioning because I did not hear anything. The exact second I stopped recording, it went off. Tags: METROLINK COASTER K5LA Robbins Nest Private Railroad Grade Crossing Signals Acton Ca. Antelope Valley Line |
