Ukulele cover of Lee Scratch Perry's "Ne Run Down" My cover version of "Ne Run Down" (from the album Glory Dub) by Lee Scratch Perry, . I've animated some ducks to accompany the line: If the river was money, and I was a duck, I'd dive to the bottom and drink my way up. Speaking of ducks, that line is very similar to a line in Rollin' And Tumblin' by Muddy Waters: Well, if the river was whiskey, And I was a divin' duck. Well, I would dive to the bottom, Never would I come up. Tags: Lee Scratch Perry Glory Dub Ne Run Down reggae ukulele music animation art duck money the root of all evil cover ASCII |

Accumulated Winters: 2001-2008 The majority of this footage was compiled to comprise a Secret Santa gift that I made for a friend in 2001. But many winters have passed since then. Each leaving a layer of snow. And so now this is the final result. Tags: Accumulated Winters snow winter sleet cold Christmas solstice X-mas tree holiday Canada Ontario PEC Toronto Sandbanks |

So This Is Feeling Right Now Shot with an old video camera using a video mirroring effect (similar to that available in the "Photo Booth" program). I then processed the footage frame-by-frame in Photoshop and recompiled the frames. The audio consists of the computer voices available in the TextEdit program on Macintosh computers. You type in a sentence and the computer "speaks". You can then add accents to change inflection and pronunciation. The drums and organ noises were made in GarageBand. This is the result. Continental Drift Here are a few low-resolution video clips captured with a still-camera to document a cross-continental trip from Toronto to Oakland, and then returning through Montreal to Picton. The audio is me playing the ukulele, and simple drumming with a MIDI keyboard. Recorded and mixed in Cubase. Muscae Volitantes A semi-ridiculous little experiment I made using iMovie and Flash. I threw it together rather quickly to see how it would look. Muscae volitantes are floaters, little cells floating on the surface of your eyes. The music is something I put together in GarageBand with live guitar. The rest of the instruments are MIDI plug-in type things that I had to play using the computer keyboard. Animated Ukulele Ditty An animated version of a song that I wrote on the ukulele. I used the computer program Flash to animate and rotoscope the video file. The original video file is also on YouTube in case you want to see a "before and after". Notebook No. 4 The original footage (a self-portrait while spinning with a borrowed Pixelvision PXL-2000 camera) was transfered from Pixelvision audio tape onto VHS, then rotoscoped from a TV screen onto paper and then photocopied. The pages were scanned, and then assembled in iMovie. The ticky-ticky soundtrack was compiled in GarageBand. Tags: experimental Pixelvision PXL-2000 animation photocopy Sean Bokenkamp drawing |

Painter Sketch This animated sketch -- made with acrylic paint, a canvas, and a Super-8 camera propped up on a ladder -- was a preliminary test for a longer animated project that I never got around to. The footage is from 1993. The soundtrack is from now. Tags: Animation painting Sean Bokenkamp experimental film art super8 |

Notebook No. 3 Originally envisioned as part of a flipbook animation project, these images were drawn last-page-first in a notebook with a marker. The pages were then scanned and compiled in iMovie. The soundtrack was thrown together in GarageBand by me. Tags: experimental animation flipbook Sean Bokenkamp drawing |
