I babbled about how much I loved this movie and how much I hated the critics who hated it, because I thought it was a lovely story and a beautiful film. It takes the story of Snape's descent into the dark arts to a more detailed level, with Lily a bit more involved in the process. She's inexplicably drawn to him while at the same time, she's repulsed by his violence, anger, and thuggish friends. They get into frequent fights, over his choice in friends and over her romance with James. Snape lives in constant fear that his master will find out about his love for Lily and dispose of her, while Lily is in constant fear of Snape losing his life at his master's hand. Lucius Malfoy constantly targets Lily just to get under Snape's skin, but when Voldemort finds out about a prophecy, and targets Lily and her family, Snape is finally faced with a choice between love and duty. Danielle Panabaker and Steven Strait play the respective roles of young Lily and young Snape throughout the video. Sir Guy's Lament "My Skin" by Natalie Merchant // BBC Robin Hood **SPOILERS to 2.13!!** "Your face-saving promises, whispered like prayers - I don't need them." All of the events, good and bad, in Guy's life culminate in one irreversible act. This video stemmed out of a debate I accidentally got into over how "evil" Guy is. I defended him, but the person against him pointed out all of his past misdeeds and his actions in the finale and added "Explain that." Frustratingly, trying to explain an immensely complex and dark character to someone who doesn't want to hear it in 500 characters or less is no easy feat. Add to that some residual anger over a couple of writer/producers and you have one very angry and eager-to-explain Veritas. The one thing I kept thinking was "Gee - what could have POSSIBLY caused Guy to do what he did when he did it?" Hmmmm.... The writing portion of my brain is otherwise engaged these days, but the vidding part was just sitting there all lazy so I decided to put it to work. Listening to this song on repeat - all week - while writing - led to this video, which is one of my personal favorites. So... let me know what you think. Fanfic, which I wrote after making this video. I loved Carter and have been wanting to make a proper video of him for so long! Anyway, Carter falls in love with Marian, but she's confused and torn between Robin and Guy. Carter tries to convince her to see that Guy is not good for her, and Robin would leave her again. When Marian continues to refuse him, he leaves again for the Holy Land. Finally, Marian's eyes open to the truth, and she sets out to the Holy Land to reunite with her one true love. LostFrenchyGirl's description of the video was simply this: "Parce que toute la magie réside dans le fait de raconter une histoire qui n'a jamais exister mais de nous faire croire simplement le contraire." For a Robin/Marian fan with Guy/Marian tendencies, you can imagine how hard this video was... especially since AU videos are tough for me! This is also a double-celebration for me... on 13 April, I'll have been on YouTube for two years!! When times get tough, Wallace is always there to crack a joke and tell her everything is all right. But sometimes, being there for someone takes its toll, especially when that someone seems to be barely hanging on. This song is a bit more dramatic than their friendship - Veronica was never suicidal - so take the line "Still I hear you say you want to end your life" somewhat figuratively. "Every time you throw him to the floor, why are you surprised to see he's breakable?" **This video is dedicated to the lovely ladies on the French Robin Hood Forum 'Everything is a Choice' - thanks so much for your wonderful support and kind words about my videos!!!** **This video is also dedicated to Jen, the author of "The Countess."** This video is based on a Guy/Marian fanfiction called "The Countess" which takes place after the series 2 finale. The link to read this amazing work is at the end of the description. This video loosely covers the first few chapters, during which Marian is recovering from a serious wound under the care of Guy of Gisborne, whose position in England has changed since the finale. They're on a ship sailing from Acre to Marseille, and while things don't start out very well (for whatever reason, Marian's mad at Guy - hehe) their relationship changes as they begin to really understand each other. In the video, the color shots are taking place on the ship and just after they arrive in Marseilles. The black and white shots are Marian's realizations of just how badly she's used and abused Guy. And yes, Allan fans, the man who is good with nuns figures very prominently in this story. I've only spoiled the first few chapters - it's up to you to go read the rest! Clue - A Birthday Trailer "Final Countdown" by Immediate Music // Clue (1985) My little sister, Booga, is turning 10 on Sunday! This is her gift! I have to thank two very special people for their help with this video - firstly Di, who diligently searched for a song for me in my hour of desperation; and to my other sister, Bauer, who also helped in the production of this video (thus making it a gift from both of us to our little sister, aww!) This is also doubling as a very belated get-well gift to Samantha, who also likes this movie :D Ever played "Clue" before? This movie is based on the popular murder-mystery board game. The cast is headed by the brilliant Tim Curry, but you'll find every character in this movie is brilliant in their own way. The humor is very subtle at times, even topical (it's set in the 1950's Cold War era) but if my soon-to-be-10-year-old sister likes it, I think you can, too! I had a devil of a time finding a good song for this, as Di and my sister can attest to, so purely because of time constrictions, I landed on this trailer format about four hours ago (after about fifty other attempts at songs) and ended up teasing the movie. All We Are (Robin & the Gang) "All We Are" by OneRepublic // BBC Robin Hood **This video is dedicated to Red, who made me the sexiest - I mean, sweetest - get well soon card while I was sick this week ( http://veritas724.livejournal.com/78162.html ). Also, this video was made completely with the trimmer in Sony Vegas, thanks to an email from Smokeyfizz. Lastly, you'll notice I really expanded my Photoshoppin' skills in this one. I feel so very technologically advanced right now.** This video is completely from Robin's point of view, inspired by a few of the scenes in the finale. He loves his gang but fears that he will fail them, disappoint them, or be betrayed by them. It examines his relationship with each of them and includes Carter and the effect his death had on Robin. Note: there is no Marian in this video. I chose this version of the song because the line "Lord knows I've failed you time and again" always inspired the image of Much yelling at Robin inside the barn. I also had a heckuva time finding this version of the song, but my new best friend - Amazon.com - had it available for download. Lady Marian: The Paralyzer "Paralyzer" by Finger Eleven // BBC Robin Hood With the slightest look or movement, Marian has some strange hold over Sir Guy. I can tell you the exact day I started working on this: 21 December 2007, the day I posted "Stay with You." My sister and I were singing this song while we were Christmas shopping and I was beaten by the inspiration stick - "This is perfect for Guy and Marian!" Well, a month and a half later, I proudly present this video. :D I consider it epic because of how long it took. This is more my old style of editing, with the quick cuts on the beats.
