MY NAME IS SHANGHAI JOE (clip) Notorious, widely censored 1972 Kung Fu Spaghetti Western from Mario Caiano aka The Fighting Fist of Shanghai Joe. Chen Lee stars as an immigrant worker who comes to the old west, finds racism and injustice and decides to fight back! A collection of whack-job cutthroats are on his tail including Klaus Kinski, Claudio Undari, Katsutoshi Mikuriya, and Gordon Mitchell! Sure Yuen Woo Ping is nowhere in sight, but it's still damned entertaining. Tags: Kung Fu Spaghetti Western '70s Mario Caiano Chen Lee Klaus Kinski Gordon Mitchell |

9 DEATHS OF THE NINJA (trailer) Trailer for the spectacularly cheesy 1985 jungle-action movie starring Sho Kosugi, Brent Huff and Blackie Dammett. If Rambo was a ninja working for the CIA... You'd have this. This trailer doesn't even come close to conveying the dizzying hieghts of absurdity this film attains. Classic! METAMORPHOSIS (trailer) Trailer for the cheesy, gory and highly entertaining direct to video 1990 sequel to the drive-in classic Return of the Alien's Deadly Spawn. Starring... well, pretty much nobody. Tags: alien deadly spawn gore sci-fi horror |

BARRY MCKENZIE HOLDS HIS OWN (intro) Great intro scene to the 1974 sequel to The Adventures of Barry McKenzie starring Barry Crocker. Incredibly politically incorrect and sexist. Barry and Auntie Edna head out to France (on Frogair) when Edna is kidnapped by the evil Count Erich von Plasma (Donald Pleasance hamming it up to levels heretofore unknown to man), who believes her to be the Queen incognito. QUIET COOL (clip) Intro chase sequence from James Remar's 1986 cheeseball action flick in which he plays a NY cop who heads to the backwoods only to run afoul of some bloodthirsty pot growers. Somehow it didn't seem quite so laughable back in the day. Co-stars Daphne Ashbrook, Jared Martin, Nick Cassavetes and what '80s action flick would be complete without Chris Mulkey? I ESCAPED FROM DEVIL'S ISLAND (clip) Vastly entertaining 1973 Roger Corman produced exploitation pic based on the very real accounts of the French prison colony in French Guiana. Jim Brown sure knew how to pick great roles and this fits right into his early '70s repertoire. Also stars Christopher George, Richard Ely and Richard Rust. THE FIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS (clip) Terence Hill and Bud Spencer's 1994, presumably final, hurrah as Trinity and Bambino (though for legal reasons they are not allowed to be called that and wear costumes from their other famous roles). Maybe it's not quite as good as their earlier films, but it's still damned entertaining. Aka The Troublemakers. Tags: terence hill bud spencer troublemakers italian comedy western trinity |

FLATFOOT (clip) Great 1973 Bud Spencer cop flick, that started a quadogy, about Inspector Rizzo, a tough, two-fisted Naples detective who does things his own way and refuses to carry a gun. After getting framed for murder and engaging in a frozen-fish fight, Flatfoot brings down a drug ring. Directed by Steno. Tags: bud spencer steno flatfoot italian cop mafia |

SIGN OF THE PAGAN (clip) Sword n' sandal fans should enjoy this 1954 production about Attila the Hun's attempt to conquer the Roman empire, but the main selling point if you aren't a peplum freak, is the late, great Jack Palance as the mighty Attila! That alone is well worth the price of admission. Also stars Jeff Chandler. Tags: Attila the Hun Jack Palance Jeff Chandler peplum sword and sandal roman empire |

WELCOME TO BLOOD CITY (clip) Excellent, obscure 1977 science fiction western that blends elements of "1984", "The Prisoner" and "Westworld" into a great little thriller. People dressed in grey suits with cards identifying them as murderers show up void of memory in a dirty little western town where killing is the law! Stars the late, great Jack Palance, Keir Dullea, Samantha Eggar and Barry Morse. Directed by British film legend Peter Sasdy. WILD BEASTS (clip) Franco Prosperi's somewhat controversial 1984 animals-on-PCP horror opus is definitely one of the most outlandish, gory and often bizarre entries in the "nature's revenge" genre and one of my all time favorites. While the two mondo-style scenes are rather unpleasant the rest of the movie is a blast with surprisingly elaborate animal scenes. Stars Lorraine De Selle, John Aldrich and Ugo Bologna. CREATURE (clip) One of my favorite "Alien" rip-offs, this gory 1985 William Malone flick sports great atmosphere, special effects and Klaus Kinski clearly phoning in his performance. Aka "The Titan Find". Tags: alien gore sci-fi horror creature titan find Klaus Kinski William Malone corman |

HANDS OF STEEL (clip) Sergio Martino, the most underrated of the masters of '70s & '80s Italian genre cinema, directs this highly entertaining 1986 blend of "The Terminator" and "Over the Top" (seriously), aka "The Atomic Cyborg". This film unquestionably influenced Albert Pyun's 1993 masterpiece "Nemesis", as shown in this clip and many other moments in the film. Stars Janet Agren, Claudio Cassinelli, George Eastman, Donald O'Brien and John Saxon. Sadly, this was veteran Italian actor Claudio Cassinelli's final film as he was killed in a helicopter accident during production. KARATE COP (clip) I'm a sucker for "Mad Max" rip-offs and this 1991 sequel to Ron Marchini's 1990 film "Omega Cop" is admittedly budget starved and relentlessly cheesy, but I'd say that's part of it's charm. Tags: Ron Marchini David Carradine mad max post apocalypse nuke karate omega cop |

NINJA SQUAD (clip) One of the many Joseph Lai and Betty Chan hatchet jobs in which they insert highly amusing Richard Harrison ninja footage into an existing film. WITHOUT WARNING (clip) Practically the definition of "cult film", Greydon Clark's 1980 sci-fi/horror film sports a great cast including Jack Palance, Martin Landau, Neville Brand, Cameron Mitchell, Larry Storch and a young David Caruso. Plus you have cinematography by Dean Cundy and make up effects by Greg Cannom! Tags: Greydon Clark Jack Palance Martin Landau Neville Brand Cameron Mitchell Larry Storch aliens horror gore '80s |
