Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and INA funds -VI On the 11 th June 1987 the C.P.I. (M) Member of Parliament Basudev Acharya had written a letter to the then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. He wrote : "I have come to know from the Madras Voters Forum Memoramdum that the governments of Japan, Burma and a few other countries had given the government of India the properties of Netaji held there appreciate this gesture. Along with this the voter's Forum has proposed that this money be spent in the propagation of the ideals of Netaji. I also request that you consider the proposal". Tags: gandhi nehru subhas |

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and INA funds -V Probably if the complete I.B. Report could be unravelled, the whole mystery of the one hundred and fourteen crore rupees would have been unravelled the total issue is just a concoction. But amazingly no one knows anything about it!! Then has this large amount of money simply disappeared!! Or is it something else Tags: gandhi nehru subhas |

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and INA funds -IV The Government has never really denied this amount of money. On the other hand while going through the documents one feels. The Government is trying to hide something. The All India Freedom Fighters Association and the All India Azad Hind Fauj Association had officially written to Rajiv Gandhi asking the government for a detail on how the one hundred and fourteen crore rupees of the INA had been spent. In the context of this letter, a note had been sent from the Prime Minister's Office to the Home Ministry in this regard, saying that : All matters regarding this had to be had to be informed to the Prime Minister. Within four months the Home Ministry sent a reply to the Prime Minister's Office informing : "there was no information on the matter with the Home or Foreign Ministry. The Finance Ministry has asked the Reserve Bank to look into the matter. But the Reserve Bank has asked for more detailed particulars". This was the sort of maze that was created right from the start. No Government department has ever stated blatantly that gone around. The intelligence Branch was given the responsibility. The portion of the I.B. report received by Khonj Khabor is worth going into in detail. The I.B. Report says: "Till the year 1945 the government of the Azad Hind Fauj centered around the Burmese government. They had direct business transactions with the Japanese government. This was stated very clearly in the I.B. report. But the minute the question of the fourteen crore rupees cropped up there began again the jugglery with words". "We have come to know that the money was received by the Reserve Bank of India." Tags: gandhi nehru subhas |

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and INA funds -III All right, even if we set aside the frits by way of power, what about a portion of the money deposited in the bank by Netaji's Azad Hind Fauj amounting to a sizeable amount of Rupees one hundred and fourteen crores? Burma, Singapore and Japan had returned this large amount of money deposited by the INA in the Banks there to the Government of India No, this fact is not only the version of the followers of Netaji, this fact has also been mentioned time and again in the Government documents. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and INA funds -II Even after achieving in dependence the Nehru family did not change the tradition of denigrating Netaji which had begun prior to independence. And the task which began with Jawaharlal continued even with Rajiv Gandhi. On 23 Jan, 1987, at a function organized by the "All India Azad Hind Fauj Association at Delhi a letter of protest had been organized. In it was remarked an occasion when Rajiv Gandhi had gone on a visit to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands at Port Blair. He was supposed to have garlanded Netaji's statue there. But on some pretext or the other Rajiv Gandhi avoided it just like his grandfather Nehru! Jawaharlal Nehru had not visited the site where the British had destroyed Netaji's memorial tomb at Singapore during his visit there. But why hadn't he gone there? Just because Lord Mountbatten had asked him not to? Or was it because he also didn't want to associate himself with the function paying respect to the INA? Nehru's grandson Rajiv too avoided the occasion of garlanding Netaji's statue. Why this indifference? This insult? When one ponders on these unknown facets of history, one feels that the Nehru family knew very well who were the prople who unhesitatingly laid down their lives for the country and who were enjoying the fruits of the freedom without any sacrifice. also visit www.missionnetaji.org and read back from dead by anuj dhar (taken from khonjkhabar) Tags: gandhi nehru subhas |

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and INA funds Netaji was a person who did not hesitate to give his life for the cause of the independence of his country, one who believed in no mutual understanding with foreigners who wanted to keep his India in filters. The British rulers were very apprehensive about him to and his actions. It was Netaji's Azad Hind Fauj which inspired the Naval Mutiny which in turn struck the last nail into the coffin of the British empire in India. But Netaji was not only deprived of the respect and prestige due to him on the other hand he was subjected to uncalled for, unexpected insults and a dirty conspiracy. But Khonj Khabor is no longer alone in its crusade of protest. Recently on the 24 th and 25 th of June an association named the Mission united Association held an exhibition of Netaji's book and photographs in Gorfa, South Kolkata which was an unique endeavour. Khonj Khabor was a part of this project by Mission united. also visit www.missionnetaji.org and read Back from Dead by Anuj dhar Tags: gandhi nehru subhas |
