Rescued Hummingbird Eats Gnat & Sugar "Smoothie" I am a wildlife rehabilitator. This is a juvenile ruby throated hummingbird drinking a "gnat & sugar smoothie" out of a test tube. You can see it stick out its tongue at the 12 second mark and start feeding at the 49 second mark. Hummingbirds CANNOT live on sugar water alone. The birds in the wild eat hundreds of insects to supplement the nectar they drink. This hummingbird is not a pet and will be released back into the wild as an adult. Dangerous Fluffy Kitten Threatens 7 Squirrels I am a wildlife rehabilitator. If you look fast you'll see the young foster kitten walking off the windowsill just before I pan up to the squirrels sitting on top of the light fixture making the "predator call" to warn each other of the impending danger. In the meantime, the kitten flopped about on the windowsill and then wandered off. The squirrels were so convinced the little kitten was a threat they sat up there scolding for over 10 minutes. If you'd like to see the kittens we are fostering for the Humane Society more closely, check out some of my other videos. I'm posting this movie for those of you who have been asking for more animal movies. I should have a lot more of them in the spring when wildlife babies are more common, but for the winter months I don't have much. The overwintering squirrels are increasingly less tame so they aren't very easy to film unless I sit inside behind my window, which makes the movies blurry. Angry Squirrels Crammed into 2" of Space I am a wildlife rehabilitator. One of my squirrels is getting over an injury so he tried to hide behind their porch nestbox to eat a nut... and got discovered! My Cat Living In Harmony With Squirrels ... Because there is a glass between them! Actually, he ignores the squirrels when they are inside the house but watches them avidly once they go outdoors. Go figure! I think he may just be a scaredycat. I just added this video so that those who have been following my wildlife rehabilitation movies could see some of my released squirrels (this is either Tosca or Shakespeare... hard to tell now.)
