Def Leppard - Miss You In A Heartbeat (Electric Version) Def Leppard are not only my #1 favorite band of all time but they are the greatest rock band ever!! Joe Elliott is the greatest rocker to have ever graced this earth! I have always loved Def Leppard's Miss You In A Heartbeat and the electric version is the greatest version ever! Don't get me wrong, I do love the acoustic version but the electric version and even the hidden piano version from Retro Active are far superior in every way! This electric version just completely blows me away musically, vocally and the way the guitar solo completely ROCKS!! Def Leppard - Love Bites (1987) "Love Bites" is a power ballad recorded by British rock band Def Leppard in 1987 on the album Hysteria. It is Def Leppard's only number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100 to date. Song The title "Love Bites" was originally used for a very different song that was eventually re-titled "I Wanna Be Your Hero", and which appeared as a Hysteria B-side and later on the album Retro Active. Following the huge momentum generated by "Pour Some Sugar On Me", the song was released in August of 1988 and quickly shot to the top of the U.S. charts, dethroning Bobby McFerrin's "Don't Worry Be Happy". It stayed there for one week before giving up the position to UB40's "Red Red Wine". The song also hit number eleven in the UK (their second best showing from the album). "Love Bites" was ranked #8 on the list of "VH1's 25 Greatest Power Ballads" and #52 on the list of "VH1's 100 Greatest Love Songs". Ending of "Love Bites" A popular rumor about the song concerns the final seconds. After the line "If you got love in your sights, Watch out, Love Bites", what is seemingly heard is "Jesus of Nazareth, Go to Hell" . Def Leppard - Animal (1987) "Animal" is a song recorded by British hard rock band Def Leppard in 1987 from the album Hysteria. It was the first single release off the album in many countries, and became the band's first Top 10 hit in their home of the United Kingdom. "Animal" is usually noted by the band as having been the most difficult track to record for Hysteria. Although it was one of the first songs developed in early 1984, neither the band nor the producers who came and went (Jim Steinman, Nigel Green, & Mutt Lange) were able to produce the desired sound until two and a half painstaking years later. However, the effort paid off when "Animal" was released as the lead single off the album in July 1987. In the UK, where the band was all but ignored during the Pyromania era, the song hit #6 on the singles chart and broke Def Leppard into the pop mainstream across Europe. Over in America, the lead single "Women" performed poorly on the pop charts, which did give the band much momentum when "Animal" was released afterwards in October 1987. It did reach a respectable #19 though, starting their run of ten consecutive US Top 40 singles, and is still one of the more popular numbers at Def Leppard concerts today. The single's UK B-side, "Tear It Down", was written during a recording session following the completion of the Hysteria album, where the band laid down several tracks intended as B-sides for the Hysteria singles.
