So, the demon decides if Dean does come back he will lose his memory of his past with Haley and even his brother, Sam desperate makes the deal, hoping he could help Dean remember when he comes back. But when the deal is made, Dean is no where around. Sam thinks the demon tricked him and didn't bring him back at all.
