Jeff Pevar at Bitter End 1990 "Rutabega Romp" This is a pice of music I wrote with the pianist in my band at the time, Seth Farber approximately 1990. I just ran across this tape in an old box and thought I should upload it in case this be of interest to anyone. The other bandmates here are bassist Marc Epstein and drummer Yves Gerrard. Sorry the quality isn't better but it is what it is. This song is in "the can" along with a bunch of other stuff that will be released on a JP record in the near future. Enjoy! Phil Lesh & Friends 2000 w/ Branford Marsalis I did a short Tour w/ Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh in 2000. It was an honor and an amazing experience for me. I had to become familiat with over 70 Dead songs for the month-long outing, which felt like I was back in school cramming for a music final. There was an amazing band of absolutely steller players and I was asked to sing a few tunes during the tour as well. Phil's approach to jamming is very unique. Rather than soloists taking thier turn being a featured soloist, he preferred it when everyone weaved lines around each other at the same time, which can be quite challenging as a steady diet. But I was honored to be asked and excited at the unique music departure. Here I did some trading off with Branford which was a unique opportunity as he was sitting in as a guest just on that evening. Someone sent me this video recently from their archives apologizing because of the poor video quality but it was still a nice souvenir to receive of the experience. This except is from the Beacon Theatre which we played for 6 night while on tour in NYC in April of 2000. Thank you Phil! We love you! Tags: Phil Lesh Jeff Pevar Dead |

CPR (Crosby, Pevar and Raymond) JP's Gravy Train This is a song I wrote that was only performed by the band a couple times before it was omitted from the bands playlist for various reasons. (longer story) Admittedly I "tanked" a few of the vocal lines in the 2nd verse, but hey, it was a new tune and I was searching for how to sing it and I like to take chances. Anyhoo a friend of mine sent me this video many years ago and I just opened up an old box of stuff and found it. I'm so glad I have this souvenir of having one tune I sang lead when the band was playing together. A moment in time gone by. Thanks for all the support and great times, Croz. We love you always. Rickie Lee Jones in Paris 1985 - Youngblood I apologize about the quality of this one, folks. It's being dubbed from a VHS tape that is old and funky but the music speaks for itself. Sorry it's not better quality. The 3 other tunes from this same concert that I also uploaded here are of better quality...but hey, I love this song! Enjoy! Rickie Lee Jones Live in Paris 1985 This is from a tour we all did in Europe together with Rickie, who is one of the best singer songwriters out there, in my humble opinion. The band was Michael Ruff (key/voc), Reggie McBride (bass), Arno Lucas (perc/voc). Artie Rodriguez (dr), Richard Elliot (sax) and myself (gtr), Jeff Pevar. Thanks for all the great music, Rickie. We love you! JP Tags: Rickie Lee Jones Jeff Pevar Michael Ruff |
