Two-up on a VFR around Eagle's Canyon Eagle's Canyon Raceway was kind enough to allow us to participate in their 10/05/08 trackday while riding two-up on my 2004 VFR. An instructor got behind us and took video of us for a lap, beginning at the righthander coming out of the dustbowl. The VFR is on stock suspension and street tires. 1967 USC vs UCLA Top-ranked UCLA (7-0-1) visited #2 USC (8-1) in late November of 1967. With the Bruins owning a 20-14 advantage in the 4th quarter, USC quarterback Toby Page audibled the play call to 23-Red Blast, a handoff to running back O.J. Simpson. The Juice went up the middle, cut to the left sideline, then all the way back across the field to the right corner of the endzone--a 64 yard touchdown run that John McKay called the greatest snap he'd ever coached. USC won, 21-20, and went on to the Rose Bowl to beat #4 Indiana, winning McKay his second national championship in six years. UCLA QB Gary Beban would win the 1967 Heisman, followed in 1968 by O.J. 1975 Rose Bowl - USC vs Ohio State #4 USC's 1974 Pac-8 title sent them to the Rose Bowl to face the Big Ten champion, 2nd-ranked Ohio State. With OSU leading by 7 going into the final minutes of the game, Pat Haden threw a 38-yard touchdown pass to Johnny Mckay in the corner of the endzone. Instead of kicking the extra point and taking the tie, Coach John McKay decided to go for two, and Haden completed another pass for the conversion. USC's 18-17 win, coupled with Alabama's loss to Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl, vaulted them to #1 in the UPI poll and their second national title in 3 years. Oklahoma was #1 in the AP poll, but was on probation at the time and so was not included in the UPI poll. USC-ND '74 - The Anthony Davis Game Notre Dame was killing USC 24-0 with a minute left in first half of the 1974 game in Los Angeles. Anthony Davis caught a TD pass to close out the half, then returned the 2nd half kickoff for a touchdown, and USC ran off 55 straight points in 17 minutes. 55-24 final score.
