| 原田 知世- 雨のプラネタリウム-Harada Tomoyo Harada Tomoyo is one of those rare 80s idols who seemed to improve with age. Many may know her from her performance in the 1983 film 時をかける少女 (the Kadokawa 80s idol film and live action adaptation of the popular Tsutsui Yasutaka SF novel). She also sang the title theme song for the film (albeit a bit off-key). Yet as her career grew, she both improved as an actress and singer. I like a lot of her later songs like 太陽になりたい and 早春物語. This is a video of her performance of 雨のプラネタリウム which is one of my favorite songs of hers. I also like the video because she looks very sexy in her leather maid outfit. This performance is from the music program "The Best Ten" which ran on TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting System) for most of the 80s. Hosts Kuroyanagi Tetsuko, Konishi Hiroyuki, Kume Hiroshi and Matsushita Kenji counted down the weekly "top ten" J-pop hits as tabulated via phone-in requests as well as record sales. Each week they would invite those singers that placed in the top ten for live performances in front of a studio audience.
