| IDF spokesman - Military exercise 02 July 2008 , 23:35 This evening, the Armored Corps' Golan Storm Brigade successfully completed a four day long training exercise in the Golan Heights. The purpose of the successful exercise was to test and display the abilities of the brigade. Artillery Corps, Infantry, and Engineering Corps battalions took part in the exercise, using live fire in different scenarios. The Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Gabi Ashkenazi, went to watch the exercise along with the Northern Command's Strom Division commander, Brigadier General Eli Reiter; the Golan Storm Brigade commander, Colonel Roi Alkvetz; and the brigade's deputy commander, Lieutenant Colonel Eli Aaronson. During the exercise, the soldiers mastered the use of the brigade's weaponry, which include, APC's, tanks, and D-9's (the D-9's purpose is to level the ground so tanks can pass over difficult terrain).
