| Halo 2: The Machinima Picture (24) The Chief has tagged along with the Prophet of Truth to Earth and left Cortana.1.0 back in the Covenant holy city High Charity. If Tartarus activates the Index, she will detonate In Amber Clad's core - thus destroying the city and the ring. Keyes, Johnson, the Arbiter, and a cast of Ultras and Zealots will see that doesn't happen. Knowledge is a powerful thing. Halo 2: The Machinima Picture After making my game-collage-film for Halo, I acquired some new hardware that greatly benefited the production of my Halo 2 gamefilm. This new tool allowed me to separate the audio from the video and reinsert where needed. Now I could have Cortana telling you the important information about the game, and not have to show that "exact spot" where she tells you. So the creative options were massive. Again, just as the one I made last year for Halo 1, this game collage is all about 'story.' So you don't see every weapon used or every vehicle driven. This is not a video walk-through of the entire game, it is a two hour (as-close-to-a-movie-as-I-could-make-it) collage. Made for myself, my brother and my Halo clanmates. A few "creative liberties" I took this time around include using the "BLIND skull" (found on the level 'Outskirts') to remove the HUD. This makes for a more comfortable view than always looking through the Chief's visor. When I did show the Chief and the Arbiter in 1st person, I over-saturated the Chief's view and under-saturated the Arbiter's. In other words... the Chief has a cool new helmet so 'he sees brighter,' and the Arbiter has been shocked and branded so 'his eyesight is dimmer.' No matter how many times I reloaded the cinema for the Arbiter's branding, the spot where his helmet hits the floor wouldn't compose quick enough. The background would finally load just as the scene was changing. So I left the helmet-drop out. It took away from the 'seriousness' to see the helmet fall - then the background appear. Also, after viewing all 4 intros for the level "Metropolis", I chose the normal difficulty scene. Here Johnson says the Prophet of Regret's name and I felt like that keeps the story relative, not to mention plugging the alien invader. The "Another Day at the Beach" cinema scene was created while the map-guys at BUNGIE were designing the new Halo 2 multiplayer maps. I loved it as soon as I saw it, when I got my copy of the Multiplayer Map Pack disc. Halo 2: the Machinima Picture would not be complete without it, so I did my best to insert it in the proper spot. For those who may not know, I'm speaking about the cinema scene where Second Squad is shot down by the Scarab and encounter a cloaked Elite. That scene is not in the game itself. More on target with the way BUNGIE loves the number 7, I chose to only show the Arbiter activate 7 pistons. There are a total of 13 they make you go through in the game. "Fun with numbers." Last but not least, I did what some may deem... heresy... lol. I chose to mix-up the final cinema scenes and put them into a more (I feel) congruent order. I also outright stop one cinema scene to show one of my music-video style cuts, then we go back to finish the cinema. This time around, it only took me five weeks to complete, as opposed to the six or seven the first film took. I actually did 'more' in 'less' time, thanks to a number of factors. If any were wondering, "no" I can not sell or make more copies of this. I post it here on the Internet for the few fans who might care to watch. Enjoy.
