| Parents TV File FCC complaint on ANTM Christian nutcases at the Parents TV council are up in arms over this boring clip. According to them: "Despite public outrage over broadcaster's abuse of the public airwaves, and despite record fines from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) -- the broadcast networks continue to flagrantly violate broadcast decency laws. The latest example occurred during the March 26, 2008 episode of America's Next Top Model on the CW network, which featured a nude photo shoot during the Family Hour (8:00 p.m. ET/PT, 7:00 p.m. CT/MT)! We are asking you to take action today by filing an official indecency complaint with the FCC about this episode today. The episode showed a model posing nude for photographs while lying on a bed. In various clips, her breasts, buttocks, and even her pubic region are in full view, albeit slightly blurred. A brief video clip can be viewed here. This is not simply a matter of artistic freedom, as some might claim. Rather, this is about a television network intentionally pushing the envelope to establish a new acceptable nudity standard for the broadcast medium. The entire photo shoot scene, which lasted for more than a minute, is wholly gratuitous and undoubtedly intended to titillate. Sadly, it appears that CW believed this was appropriate content for children given that the show aired during the Family Hour and is immensely popular with young audiences. Broadcasters have an obligation to abide by decency standards in exchange for free use of the public airwaves. Parents and families are fed up with such blatant and continued disregard for decency standards." Tags: Americas next top model Parents TV FCC Brent Bozell nudity Tyra Banks |
